The stairs don't creakChapter One   
My whole house was a jumble of predictability, except for one thing: the stairs didn’t creak.   
It was a huge mansion, the bricks dark and weathered, and the wood the same, and it was covered in climbers. It was irregular, as if the builder had just made it up as he went along. There was a big garden surrounded by a high metal fence with menacing spikes, there were gargoyles sitting on the roof, and it was looking a bit worse for wear.   
On the inside it was even better, it was dark, slightly cold and filled with strange clutter. There were staircases all over the place, lots of double doors and The stairs don't creak

I've been completely inactive for the last few months... that's because I haven't had any inspiration, and also because my scanner is busted. I've been drawing a fair bit recently, so as soon as I have the scanner fixed I'll probably upload my stuff.
